all about ally.

Photo of AML. She has long shoulder-length wavy red hair, wears a white tank top, jeans. She looks seriously at the camera.

Ally M. Lardner (she/hers) is a Korean-American writer and stage manager. She grew up in an Air Force family, which by nature has no hometown. But since she voted in her first election and felt her first heartbreak (the two were unrelated) in southern New Jersey, that's probably where she's from.

She likes to write about women who hate, sapphic angst, and (fickle, traitorous, bittersweet) memory. Her plays have been developed and produced by Subtext Studio TC, Garry Marshall Theatre, entertwine, and The Ugly Radio. She is a member and admin of EST/LA’s New West Playwrights.

AML received her B.A. from Boston College, earning the J. Robert Barth, S.J., Award for Excellence in the Arts and the J. Paul Marcoux Award upon graduation. She received two recognitions for excellence in stage management from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Outside of theatre, she ran the BC chapter of Lean on Me, a student-led mental health support text line. It totally didn't mess her up or anything.

After college, AML joined TRASH MAG, an independent queer-led zine. After running socials for two years, she was promoted to Editor-in-Chief. She is currently editing the rage + resilience edition, which garnered over 100 submissions from 20+ countries across the globe.

AML lives in Los Angeles, where she tries not to kill her partner's plants, talks about Taylor Swift too much, and works as Script Coordinator for ABC's General Hospital.
